Our supporters are powering a healthier tomorrow

Nova Scotians face some of the highest rates of preventable chronic diseases in Canada. Add a health-care system in crisis and an aging population, and the result is a seemingly insurmountable challenge.

But we have the power to drive change.

The Healthy Tomorrow Foundation is leading the charge, raising awareness about the benefits of movement and making active living more accessible for everyone. Through our programs and campaigns, we’re empowering Nova Scotians to move more and embrace healthier lives.

Unfortunately, we can’t do it alone. As a small but ambitious charity, the Foundation needs your support to continue delivering free programs and resources that inspire people across the province to get moving.

Join us as we work toward creating a vibrant and healthy tomorrow for all Nova Scotians.

Why your support matters

Your generosity helps us:

  • Expand Kids Run Club – helping more children gain confidence, build healthy habits and discover the joy of movement,

  • Amplify the Make Your Move campaign – inspiring even more Nova Scotians to move more and feel better.

  • Grow Make Your Move at Work – giving more employers the tools to foster active, healthier workplaces.

  • Develop new initiatives – creating innovative ways to encourage movement and improve overall health outcomes.

Your support isn’t just a donation—it’s an investment in a healthier future.

A Supporter’s Perspective

“We’re proud to support the Healthy Tomorrow Foundation and the powerful impact it’s making across Nova Scotia. The numbers are clear – Nova Scotians need more movement, and this organization is leading the charge. We see the difference every day: more kids being active, more workplaces embracing movement and more people realizing that small changes can lead to big health benefits. Knowing that our contribution helps sustain and expand these efforts is incredibly rewarding.”

An alarming trend:
Why we need a cultural shift

  • Nova Scotia has some of the highest rates of chronic disease in the country.

  • Almost half of Nova Scotian adults report having at least one underlying health condition.

  • Most kids in Nova Scotia are not getting enough physical activity to grow properly or achieve optimal health.

  • The average person spends nine to ten hours of their waking time not moving.

  • Excessive and prolonged sedentary time is associated with increased risk of heart disease and all-cause mortality.

  • Mental health challenges are on the rise.

  • Movement can help address these trends.
